The telegram Trudy Moncha received telling her that her mother was dead and buried was the tip of the ice burg that spun Moncha through more horror than tangling with the bull that maimed her and ended her career as a rodeo clown. Trudy returns home to discover the truth about her mothers unexpected death. Was her mothers heart attack the cause of her death or was she murdered? What she discovers is that the brothel that she has inherited has many secrets. What evil walks the halls of The Pink Lady Slipper ex-brothel that she inherited? What is her sister Linda Karel mixed up in? Is her sister a witch, a murderer or both? At every juncture Trudy turns up more skeletons figuratively and literally in the closets of the small Northern Michigan community of Orenda.
